What we’ll do: This 3-week intermediate soft circuit sewing class will build on the skills learned during our beginner series by giving participants the opportunity to design and create their own constellation nightlight. Using conductive thread, an embroidery hoop, felt, sewable LEDs, and Lilypad battery packs, participants will embed a circuit into a handmade project that will hang on their wall and light-up their room at night.  

Along the way they'll learn and refine their skills with: 

• Hand-sewing techniques
• Parallel circuits electrical engineering concepts
• Creative design choices and colour layering
• Problem solving and spatial reasoning
• Confidence-building making in a supportive studio environment

This sewing class is designed for curious kids who love to make, tinker, and experiment!

Special Note: Participants from the beginner series are asked to please bring their personalized needle holder and needle.
